Calming Thai Blue Tea (Butterfly Pea Tea)

For anti-aging and to impress your guests by changing colours

Country of origin: Northern Thailand

Classification: Flower Tea

The Blue Tea (Butterfly Pea tea,  Clitoria Ternatea) is so multifaceted that it’s difficult to keep the explanation short. It has antioxidant and anti-diabetic properties as well as anti-cancer, anti-tumor, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s also well-known for reducing stress and anxiety. Often what people like the most about the Blue Tea is that it is promoted as anti-aging tea since it is beneficial for hair and skin but can also improve your eyesight. It is reported that it also helps to keep the acid alkaline balance. Add a dash of lemon juice and see the colour change from a deep blue, into stunning purple and even pink. By doing this, you can impress your guests deeply. In Thailand, Blue tea is also enjoyed as ice tea, cocktails and smoothies to create a fancy, natural blue or purple color.

Recommendation: Use 1-2 teaspoons per 300 ml hot water.

Drink cold as cooling refreshment in summer.

Blends well with Lemongrass, Pandan Leaves, Stevia, Honey and Lemon.

Speciality: tea changes color from blue to purple and even pink the more lemon juice you add (due to change of ph-level).
